Fairytale Town transforms to a fairytale farm town for this special event. Come take part in this celebration of all-thing agricultural. There will be live sheep shearing, wool spinning, a mini-farmer's market, hands-on art activities and more.

Saturday, May 19 through Sunday, May 20 - All Aboard! Excursion Train Rides in Old Sacramento
For the 29th year, the California State Railroad Museum host's the popular excursion railroad - the Sacramento Southern Railroad. Hop on board a closed coach car, open-air gondola, or a first-class observation car pulled by vintage diesel locomotives! The trains run every Saturday and Sunday from March 31 to September 30th.

The Sacramento County Fair takes place during the Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-28, 2012. We are fun, affordable and safe for the whole family! Our community enjoys our friendly atmosphere, traditional county fair competitions, agriculture displays, hands-on family activities, carnival, festival-style entertainment, and specialty food. Marshmallow Shooter
Fun craft and a great toy!
This is a really simple craft that leaves your kiddos with a fun toy to enjoy after! It's a marshmallow/pom pom shooter!
What you need:

Stack the 2 plastic cups and cut them about a third of the way down. (I used 2 for sturdiness. If you have a surdier cup, one will probably do)
Tie your balloon and cut the (non-tied) end.

As if you need an excuse...
Just what is National Kids to Parks Day, anyway? Simply put, every family in America is invited to attend a local park, state park, or national park and play the day away! Many areas are hosting special events and, in fact, all 35 Virginia State Parks are hosting special events! You can also go to www.kidstoparks.org and pledge to go to a park with your family on May 19th. Pretty cool!

This is my favorite easy meal to make on those busy weekday nights. The ingredients don't cost much, prep time is minimal and the result is a yummy meal for your whole family to enjoy. Since this is made in the Crockpot, you can throw in the ingredients, set it... and forget it. Hours later, dinner is done.
